The pictures of descendants of the 1904 World Champion Fort Shaw Indian Girls Basketball Team will appear with identifying comments on the page honoring the team as soon as I have time to work on it. It takes a lot of time.

Regular Meeting
Sun River Valley Historical Society

We had a great meeting today, with large attendance of members and guests. Devin Bruce gave an in-depth report on his security survey of the buildings at the fort. Discussion of dues increase slated for next year. We were made aware of another major repair/renovation needed at the Commanding Officers quarters. We will have a survey made and cost estimate by Gittens Construction. We are working towards monument/s recognizing “Frozen Hill”, where a number of soldiers from the fort froze to death, while accompanying shipment of goods from Fort Benton. Ida donated two pictures of ladies in period dress. Don Ensley brought a ornate oil lamp with a reflector being donated. Dianne announced that Bob Milford is having a meeting of the Adams Barn organization at the Great Falls Public Library at 6:30 pm on October 24th.
We were honored to have many descendants of 1904 World Champion Fort Shaw Indian Girls Basketball team members in attendance to present the 2013 induction to the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center plaque to the Sun River Valley Historical Society.  Thank you all for attending and for this honor.
